This is one of those transfer sagas that Chelsea, Manchester United, and Barcelona fans are all probably collectively getting bored of right now.

However, the words continue to be written and the speculation continues to push through. It’s unclear what will happen to Frenkie De Jong this summer, and it is unclear where he will be playing his immediate and future football.

What is clear is that both Chelsea and Manchester United want to sign him and sense an opportunity due to his wage issues at Barcelona. It also looks like the Catalan club are trying to push him out if he does not agree to a wage-cut, so anything can still happen.

Many believe that De Jong wants to stay at Barcelona. However, according to The Telegraph, Frenkie De Jong has indicated that Chelsea is his preferred destination should a move to the Premier League materialise in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
