AC Milan are not expecting another revolution when it comes to the summer transfer window, but the management have some clear objectives to try and make the squad more complete.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport dedicated a feature to the importance of the game against Roma when it comes to the present and future of Milan. Exiting the Europa League against a domestic rival that are well below in the table could spell the end for Stefano Pioli.

In the meantime, Geoffrey Moncada and the transfer team are looking into how the team can be improved in view of 2024-25 when the mission will be simple: to respond to Inter by winning the second star immediately.

In his long interview with DAZN, CEO Giorgio Furlani also spoke about the mercato: “We will do a more targeted job because the foundations are there. It is not right to say that we are only aiming for young players.

“We start from scouting, there is the data, we look at the medical history and the player’s personality, as well as obviously the financial issue.”

He didn’t mention the coach but that will be a decisive factor when it comes to evaluating, approving and eventually signing players, so in that sense the coming week will be key.

Whoever it is, they will have a say in the choices, but the priorities remain regardless of who is in charge. The first: a striker. The second: a defensive midfielder. The third: a full-back.
