AC Milan will be up against Empoli tomorrow and as per the latest reports, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori will start in the heart of the defence. It’s the first time since the end of November, and the stats speak for themselves.

Stefano Pioli and his men have conceded too many goals this season, with 48 in all competitions and 32 in Serie A. In order to win the Scudetto, this is obviously not good enough but it’s fair to say that the injury struggles haven’t helped.

Taking a look at the stats, Milan have conceded just seven goals with Thiaw and Tomori starting in the heart of the defence (10 games). Certainly a better per-game average than we have seen lately with the Rossoneri, and both being back will hopefully give Milan a boost.

Tomorrow’s game is scheduled for 15:00 CET and in addition to the defensive changes, Pioli also has some attacking ones lined up. Rafael Leao is suspended and Noah Okafor will thus be the starting winger for the Rossoneri, while Luka Jovic should also get the chance.

Hopefully, with the injuries behind them, Milan can start again tomorrow and do well for the remainder of the season.
