The Portland Timbers transferred forward Yimmi Chara to Junior FC in his native Colombia.

The MLS club announced the deal Tuesday, saying the move was by mutual agreement.

Chara, 32, tallied 15 goals and 29 assists in 102 MLS matches (83 starts) with the Timbers from 2020-23.

"We would like to thank Yimmi for his contributions and commitment to the club over the past four seasons. He has been a true professional during his time in Portland," Portland general manager Ned Grabavoy said. "We wish him all the best with the opportunity to return to a club he has a history with and reuniting with his family."

Chara was previously at Junior FC from 2017-18. He has also played with Colombia's Deportes Tolima, Mexico's CF Monterrey and Brazil's Atletico Mineiro.
