One club director has been raving about his new Chelsea player this week and says he’s a player who can be good at breaking the lines.

Sounds like a player that Chelsea could do with in their starting Xl right now!

Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos had a disastrous loan at Nottingham Forest for the first part of this season. But luckily there was another window in January and a chance for that to be amended.

Chelsea recalled him in January and he has then gone back out on loan to another club in the final hours of the window.

Santos has now joined Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg on loan for the rest of the season, which to be honest looks like it should be a better move for him.

And if the words of Strasbourg director, Loïc Désiré, are anything to go by then it looks like they really rate Santos and he should get much more game time now.

As cited on X, Desire said:

“Andrey Santos is a midfielder who has good vision of the game. His very high passing quality allows him to break the lines. His profile is very complementary to our current midfielders.”
