Paul Robinson has become the latest pundit to praise Daniel Levy as they voted him into an ECA directorship position.

The Tottenham supremo is one of the most respected football executives in the world because of the work he has done at the club.

He has helped Spurs become one of the Premier League’s top six, breaking the traditional top four.

Spurs have also been finishing above Arsenal in recent seasons and they have recruited some of the best young players around Europe recently.

Levy has built his reputation as a no-nonsense business executive that sells his players at his own price.

He looks after his club’s interest in terms of money and showed that again when he forced Manchester City into abandoning their pursuit of Harry Kane in the last transfer window.

Former Tottenham number one, Robinson insists he respects the businessman and he is the right man for the job.

He told Football Insider about the appointment: “That comes from people that have dealt with him in business situations for a number of years now.

“I know Daniel and I hold him in very high regard from the dealings I have had with him.

“He has done an excellent job at Tottenham Hotspur and he has always had the best interest of the club at heart. He does what he thinks is right for the club.

“If you look at the stadium, the training ground and the infrastructure you can see the forward planning. What he has done is nothing short of incredible.

“Yes, at times he has been criticised but all chairmans are at times. They haven’t won a trophy for too long but the progression is there. Everything has been put in place for that club. You cannot criticise him.

“To have the recognition of his peers in the Premier League tells you an awful lot about the way he conducts his business.”
