Chelsea trudged to yet another disappointing result last night against Arsenal, and the situation at Chelsea just seems like it is going to get so much worse before it gets better.

Mauricio Pochettino is close to being announced as the new Chelsea manager but there are some formalities to sort out in the deal before it is official.

Todd Boehly has a big job on his hands over the next few years at Chelsea, but has insisted his desire at the club is to win.

Speaking at the Milken Conference, Boehly had this to say,

"I think there's a lot that we've learned about the different markets, the global aspect of it all. The fans are demanding and they want to win, and we got that we want to win. So, you know, I think our view though, was that this is a long term project."

The fans are growing impatient after recent results but Boehly insists the failure that's occurring at the moment is not going to become the norm at Chelsea. A long-term project has moments like this, and it's about how you come through them.

Boehly also made clear that the coach is the conductor to any team, which may pay homage to the fact that Chelsea are now close to appointing a new one in the shape of Pochettino.

The Chelsea fans will be hoping it's truly the start of a new era under Boehly and Pochettino, and not another false start like the beginning of last season.
