Youri Tielemans Tells Manchester United and Liverpool Exactly What They Want to Hear

Tielemans Confirms Departure From Leicester City

Tielemans has confirmed his departure from the King Power Stadium. The expiration of his current £120k-per-week contract will see the Belgian international hit the free transfer market. He was full of gratitude for his time at Leicester when announcing his departure from the club via his Instagram.

“From the first day, I set foot on this ground, your warmth and passion embraced me.” Victory and triumph, love, hope and even defeat, we’ve shared many special moments together.

“This is not a goodbye,” he added, “but a heartfelt farewell.” The 26-year-old midfielder, joined The Foxes from Monaco in 2019 on loan, before making his stay with the club a permanent one.

Qualities Tielemans Would Bring to Any Club

Tielemans has been linked to Manchester United and Liverpool in recent times. It remains to be seen where the Belgian midfielder will end up next season, but he will bring a number of desirable qualities to any new team. He is an extremely intelligent and gifted playmaker – comfortable in possession and carries the ball forward with aplomb. Tielemans never looks rushed. He is so calm on the ball and adept at finding an open teammate to keep attacks moving.

Tielemans has shown throughout his time in England that his passing is one of his most impressive assets, whether short passes or picking out a striker running in behind the opposition defence. He is adept at evading the press and retaining possession in high-pressure situations, which makes him a valuable asset.
