Mattia Caldara is one of the players that could leave Milan before the start of the season, having attracted interest from a few clubs. His loan spell at Atalanta may not have gone well, but he’s still a well-known name.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Torino have expressed their interest in the centre-back recently and intend to enter advanced negotiations with Milan. The basis of the negotiations is a loan, most likely with an option to buy.

In addition to Torino, newly-promoted Serie A side Venezia have also shown their interest but it seems they are a bit behind. Caldara isn’t in the plans of Milan and they are looking to offload the defender this summer.

It remains to be seen what the figures of the potential operation will be, but Milan fans shouldn’t expect loads for the defender. After all, it’s been a long time since his glory days at the back for Atalanta.
