Torino will reportedly turn to Lazio’s Ivan Provedel as they may need a new goalkeeper for next season.

The Granata have been relying on the gigantic gloves of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to protect their goal over the past few campaigns. Sergej’s younger brother has now established himself as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in Serie A, and is now being linked with a return to his former club, Manchester United, as well as other Premier League suitors.

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Torino are expected to cash in on the 28-year-old this summer, so they could resort to Provedel as a replacement. The Italian custodian should be available on the market after losing his starting berth to the younger Christos Mandas in recent months.

After all, Lazio are unlikely to keep a benchwarmer who costs them €3.7 million per year in gross wages. The Biancocelesti would be happy to sell the 31-year-old for €7 million.

In addition to Torino, the source names another two suitors, beginning with Como who haven’t been completely convinced by Jean Butez, while the veteran Pepe Reina is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. Moreover, Udinese find themselves in a similar situation, with Maduka Okoye blowing hot and cold.

If Lazio manage to offload Provedel, they will have to decide whether to sign an experienced goalkeeper who is willing to serve as an understudy for Mandas, or bring in a profile under the age of 22, thus freeing up a spot on the senior Serie A squad list.
