Federico Bernardeschi is hoping to switch Toronto for Turin this month as he bids for a return to Juventus, but a move isn’t likely to be made until the end of this month.

The 29-year-old Italian forward ended a five-year spell with the Bianconeri back in the summer of 2022, leaving on a free transfer to join Toronto FC. He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the MLS outfit, starting a new adventure abroad.

Whilst things started well for Bernardeschi in Canada, his last season with Toronto was one to forget, netting just five goals and providing two assists in 31 league matches. He has grown unhappy with life at the club and is now keen to head back to Serie A.

As reported by Tuttosport via TMW, Bernardeschi is waiting to return to Juventus, but the club aren’t currently planning to finalise a move just yet, focusing on other deals instead. An offer is more likely to be made in the final days of the January transfer window.

A move may also depend on the future of Filip Kostic, who has not managed to impress in Turin this month. He has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League and could make the jump in the coming weeks.
