Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Atalanta midfielder Ederson at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has been a key player for the Italian club and his performances have attracted the attention of the North London giants as well. Ederson would add creativity, control, composure, technical ability and defensive cover to the Spurs midfield.

He is a hardworking player who could be the ideal replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Spurs want to sign a quality central midfielder and the Brazilian certainly fits the profile. Ederson has six goals and an assist to his name this season.

It remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with Atalanta now.

A report from Give Me Sport claims that Spurs are now convinced about signing him after tracking him for two years. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a reasonable fee.

A move to the Premier League could be an exciting opportunity for the Brazilian and he will look to test himself in England. He has the physicality to do well in English football and he has the technical attributes to thrive in Tottenham’s attacking setup as well.

Spurs have been linked with the Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as well but GMS claim that he could cost upwards of £50 million. It is fair to assume that Ederson would cost a lot less.

Spurs are pushing for a top four finish and they need better quality players in the Champions League next season. Players like Ederson could prove to be vital additions for them.
