Tottenham Hotspur are keen on improving their attacking options during the January transfer window and they have identified Lois Openda as a target.

The Belgian striker has been outstanding for RB Leipzig since he moved to the Bundesliga and he has scored 14 goals across all competitions. According to reports via TeamTalk, Manchester United are keen on signing the striker in the upcoming months and Tottenham are ready to hijack their move for the player.

Tottenham need to bring in a quality long-term replacement for Harry Kane who left the club at the start of the season. Openda has proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer in the Bundesliga and he has the technical attributes to do well in English football as well. There is no doubt that he could prove to be a quality, long-term acquisition for the North London club.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can beat their Premier League rivals to his signature. The report further states that Tottenham could submit a club record offer to sign the Belgian.

The player signed for RB Leipzig at the start of the season and the German club will not want to lose him just yet. Tottenham might have to pay well over the odds in order to convince them to sanction his departure.

As for Opnda, a move to the Premier League would be a major step up in his career and he could be attracted to the idea of playing for the London club.
