Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Everton defensive midfielder Amadou Onana this summer.

The North London club have started planning for the upcoming transfer window. While the focus is still on finishing the season in the best possible way and securing Champions League football, people at the club have started laying down the groundwork for the summer transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou has had a great first season at the club and they are expected to further bolster his squad to help him take the next step. Tottenham are looking to reinforce their midfield and insider Paul O Keefe has confirmed their interest in the services of Amadou Onana.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has been a standout performer for Everton in the recent past. He has gone from strength to strength since joining the club in 2022 and is already a mainstay for the Toffees. In the ongoing season, the Belgian international has featured in 33 matches and he has even contributed towards four goals.

He is capable enough to feature as a central midfielder as well as in a defensive role. And, with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg likely to leave Spurs at the end of the season, the 22-year-old could come in as an ideal replacement.

He has already proven himself in the English top flight and it is one of the major reasons why Spurs are interested in his services. With his contract at Everton running until the summer of 2027, he could cost around £60 million. While it is a significant fee, the Belgian international has huge potential and he could be a great long-term investment for them.
