Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has not been a regular starter for the North London club and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time. A report from Football Insider claims that the player and Tottenham are both keen on going their separate ways in the summer and Tottenham plan to accept a reasonable offer for him.

The midfielder earns £110,000 a week at the Premier League club and Tottenham will be hoping to get his wages off their books. The Denmark international is not the ideal fit for their current style of play and it makes sense for the two parties to part ways in the summer.

Hojbjerg could secure a quality move

The midfielder is certainly good enough to play at a high level and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. He has proven himself in the Premier League over the years and there is unlikely to be any shortage of clubs keen on him.

Tottenham should cash in on him in the summer and sign a central midfielder who is better suited to their style of play.

Hojbjerg is at the peak of his career right now and he will want to play as often as possible. Tottenham cannot provide him with that opportunity and it makes sense for the player to look at other options. It remains to be seen where midfielder ends up eventually. He has a physicality and technical attributes to play for the biggest clubs in the world and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for most teams at the right price.
