Tottenham are trying to play hardball with respect to signing Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

The winger has enjoyed a mixed campaign with the London club, after impressing in the previous season.

While Spurs can opt to trigger his 24.9m release clause as part of the loan deal they negotiated with Juve, they see a chance to get a further discount.

Per Calcio Mercato, Spurs are hoping to negotiate an even lower fee for the right winger.

Juventus want funds to make their own signings, while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has to contend with reduced revenues after missing out on European football for next season.

Spurs have yet to hire a football director or a head coach as they prepare for the coming campaign.
