Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old attacker has been linked with the move away from the club in recent weeks and clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus are keen on signing him as well.

According to a report from Tuttosport via Sport Witness, Tottenham are set to discuss a potential move for the 26-year-old Icelandic attacker and it will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with the Italian club.

The report further states that the player is not keen on a move to Inter Milan and therefore Juventus and Tottenham have been mentioned as potential destinations.

It is no secret that Tottenham will have to improve their attacking options in the summer and Gudmundsson could prove to be a quality addition. He will add goals and creativity to the side.

Tottenham have missed a reliable number nine since the departure of Harry Kane and the Genoa striker could lead the line for them, allowing players like Richarlison and Son Heung-min to operate in their natural roles. He could also share the goalscoring burden with them.

Tottenham are pushing for Champions League qualification and they need a deeper squad to do well across multiple competitions. They will need to plug the gaps in their squad during the summer window.

Tottenham must look to sign Albert Gudmundsson

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can beat the competition from Juventus and get the deal done. They have more financial resources compared to the Italian club, and they should be able to win the race for the Icelandic attacker’s signature.

Meanwhile, the player’s agent Oscar Damiani believes that Gudmundsson could leave Italy in the summer. That will certainly come as a boost for Tottenham and they will feel that they are in the driving seat as far as the transfer pursuit is concerned.
