Tottenham Hotspur signed Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli at the start of the season.

The 27-year-old Italian international goalkeeper has been outstanding for his new club so far. He has impressed with his shot-stopping, distribution and assured presence at the back.

Vicario has now revealed to Sportweek Magazine (h/t Gazzetta) the one thing he really likes about the Premier League. The Italian international highlighted the passion of the fans in English football as a major attraction. The opportunity to play in front of a packed stadium every week has been an outstanding experience for the player so far.

“There is not just one thing I like about the Premier League. If I really had to choose, I’d say the passion of the fans and the crazy atmospheres that are created every weekend wherever you go. We are lucky enough to have a packed stadium, where people have great passion.”

There is no doubt that the Italian has established himself as an important player for Tottenham already, and he will be hoping to build on his impressive start to life at the North London club.

He has had his fair share of criticism for his command of the box, especially during set pieces. If he can cut that out of his game in the coming months, he could develop into a top class Premier League goalkeeper.

Vicario is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. He is still only 27 and the goalkeeper is yet to enter his peak years. Replacing club legend Hugo Lloris must have been a major challenge for the player, but the Italian has certainly stepped up since the move and lived up to the expectations.
