Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is off the mark for loan club Excelsior Rotterdam.

The Republic of Ireland international is a on season-long loan with the Eredivisie outfit.

And he scored a first goal as Excelsior won 3-0 against SC Heerenveen.

Parrott has said of the move: "I deliberately chose Excelsior and that's why I'm especially happy to be here now. I had conversations here with the trainer Marinus Dijkhuizen and technical manager Niels van Duinen. The story they told appealed to me.

"The way Excelsior plays football and the club's ambitions suit me. I have also gathered information from others and I think football in the Netherlands is more technical than in the English championship. I think that way of playing football suits me and that is why I think Excelsior is the right choice for me now."
