Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Brazilian midfielder Danilo from Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined Nottingham Forest for a fee of around £18 million and he has established himself as a key player for the Premier League side. His performances have attracted the attention of Arsenal and Manchester United as well.

A report from HITC claims that Tottenham will compete with them for the Brazilian’s services. It is no secret that Tottenham need more quality and depth in the middle of the park.

The 22-year-old can operate as a central midfielder as well as a defensive midfielder. He will add composure, control and defensive cover to the Spurs midfield. He could be the ideal replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in theory. The Denmark international is expected to leave Tottenham this summer owing to the lack of game time. Tottenham will need to bring in a quality replacement and the Brazilian would be a superb addition.

He has shown his quality in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest this season and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience.

Arsenal and Man United want Danilo

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Manchester United are keen on the player as well, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can beat them to his signature.

Arsenal will need to find a quality replacement for Thomas Partey and Jorginho. While the Italian international is past his peak, Partey has had his fair share of injury problems this season.

At Manchester United, Sofyan Amrabat will leave the club upon the expiry of his loan deal and the Red Devils must sign a quality central midfielder. Danilo could prove to be the ideal acquisition for them and he could form a solid partnership alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro.
