Tottenham's Harry Kane sponsors Leyton Orient shirts for third straight season

It's often been the case that Tottenham Hotspur striker and England captain Harry Kane has generated headlines throughout the summer months because of links with potential big-money moves to clubs such as Manchester City.

Kane made news on Wednesday for a much different reason.

Per BBC Sport and Dustin George-Miller of Cartilage Free Captain, Kane has personally sponsored the home and away shirts belonging to League Two club Leyton Orient for a third consecutive season. Long before the 28-year-old became a three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner, he played his first professional game with Leyton Orient in 2011.

For the upcoming campaign, the Leyton Orient shirts will feature the logo of mental health support organization Shout.

"I am thrilled to be sponsoring Leyton Orient’s kits for a third season," Kane said for an official statement. "I was born only a couple of miles from Orient’s stadium and am really happy to give back to the club that gave me my first professional start.

"I am pleased to welcome Shout to this partnership. COVID has presented many challenges, and these have affected the mental health and wellbeing of many people. Shout provide a vital helpline and resources to the public, helping to positively improve mental health and wellbeing.

“The special charities I have chosen for the front of shirts all mean a lot to me, and I hope this platform will help them receive the exposure and support they need."

Previously, Kane has chosen Tommy Club and also a thank-you message to the National Health Service for their work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic during his shirt sponsorships.
