Reports claim Paulo Dybala has offered himself to Barcelona, but Fabrizio Romano says the Roma forward is ‘enjoying his football’ under Daniele De Rossi, so there are no fresh updates about a potential move to Nou Camp.

Dybala has a €12m clause which can be triggered by foreign clubs at the end of the season. Serie A sides can also activate a clause to sign the Argentinean striker, but it is worth €20m for them.

Reports in Spain suggested Dybala had offered himself to Barcelona, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is unaware of talks between the Catalans and La Joya.

“I don’t really have any concrete updates on his future at the moment as it seems he’s enjoying his football at Roma and has a great relationship with the fans there and with manager Daniele De Rossi,” Romano told Caught Offside.

“It’s quiet for the moment, but as I previously reported, he will have a release clause again this summer. The €12m clause was there in January but no one decided to trigger it, let’s see if that will be different in the summer as he could be a fantastic option for many clubs.

“It’s important to note that Italian clubs can trigger Dybala’s release clause, but in this case, Roma would have the final say on the move, whereas if it’s triggered by clubs from the Premier League, La Liga, and so on, then Dybala would have the final decision.”

Dybala’s contract at the Stadio Olimpico runs out in June 2025. He has netted 13 goals and provided seven assists in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.

Today, he will start in the Giallorossi attack alongside Romelu Lukaku in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 against Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton.
