The newspapers are keeping busy with doubts surrounding Erik ten Hag’s future. Manchester United are being linked with a number of different managerial candidates, including a duo with plenty of experience at the top of the game.

I, for one, hope Ten Hag can turns things around at Old Trafford and gain support from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos Sports group.

The latest duo said to be of interest to the Ineos are Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann.

Both have plenty of experience in the Bundesliga, and Tuchel of coach led Chelsea to Champions League glory in 2021.

Tuchel’s European triumph came just months before Todd Boehly decided to replace him with Graham Potter, who is another alleged candidate being considered by Ineos following a secret meeting with Dan Ashworth.

However, like Nagelsmann, Tuchel has been sacked by Bayern Munich recently and he will leave the Allianz Stadium at the end of the season.

Nagelsmann is currently in charge of the Germany national team.

Speaking about the links to Tuchel and Nagelsmann, journalist Dean Jones said (via Manchester Evening News): “I think Tuchel will want the job. More than anything, I think he needs to feel like he still has what it takes to run a big club after the bad times he’s had at Chelsea and Bayern Munich. I think that has to be considered one of his motivating factors.

“Nagelsmann personally wouldn’t fill me with that much confidence.”
