Multiple reports suggest Italy international Simone Pafundi is leaving Udinese for a loan move to FC Lausanne-Sport.

The teenager will turn 18 in March and became a sensation when Roberto Mancini called him up for the senior Italy squad, giving him a cap in November 2022.

Despite being regularly in that group, and playing for the Under-19 and Under-20 teams, Pafundi hardly got any time on the pitch for Udinese.

He has made just two appearances this season between Serie A and the Coppa Italia for a total 60 minutes on the field of play.

A loan was expected in Serie B where he could get playing time for Venezia, Sampdoria, Palermo or Reggiana.

Instead, Sky Sport Italia and Tuttomercatoweb maintain Swiss team FC Lausanne-Sport could even have a purchase option as part of the deal worth €10-15m.

Lausanne are only 10th in the Swiss League and it would represent a 12-month loan to January 2025.

It is believed support striker Pafundi could undergo a medical over the weekend.
