Unnamed clubs from Major League Soccer are interested in signing Inter defender Stefan de Vrij.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that interest has emerged from teams in the US-based league in signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer at the end of the current season, and that he’ll give his response to the Nerazzurri’s contract offer in January.

De Vrij could leave Inter at the end of his current deal, which runs out at the end of June 2023, if he declines to agree a new contract with the club.

Transfer interest in the Dutchman in the event that he does not extend his deal with the Nerazzurri is therefore starting to appear, and not just from teams in Europe.

Some MLS clubs are starting to take notice of de Vrij’s situation.

Inter have already made de Vrij their initial offer of a contract extension until the end of June 2025, and are now awaiting the player’s response which should come by the end of next month.
