USMNT's Michael Bradley rips Donald Trump: 'There isn’t a moral bone in his body'

In response to George Floyd's death, many athletes have begun to speak out against racism and police brutality. One of the latest athletes to do so is USMNT and Major League Soccer star Michael Bradley who took a shot at Donald Trump and his handling of things over the last four years.

The Toronto FC captain wants to solve the issue of racial injustice, like many, but he says the country can't do so until Trump isn't President anymore.

“We have a president who is completely empty. There isn’t a moral bone in his body,” Bradley said, according to the Canadian Press.

“There’s no leadership. There’s no leadership from the president, there’s no leadership from the Republican senators who have sat back and been totally complicit in everything he’s done for the last 3½ years.”

The 32-year-old continued on to urge people to vote and told them to think about what another four years with Trump in office would be like.

Some of the most powerful actions against racism have come from athletes. NBA star Jaylen Brown led a peaceful protest in Atlanta alongside Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wrote an emotional op-ed for the Los Angeles Times and NHL defenseman P.K. Subban donated $50,000 to a fundraiser for Floyd's daughter.

These actions come after Floyd, an African American man, died last week after he was violently apprehended by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.

The 46-year-old was pinned to the ground by Chauvin, who then proceeded to kneel on his neck and prevent him from breathing. Floyd pleaded for his life and even told Chauvin he couldn't breathe, but Chauvin refused to move off his neck.

Floyd was later pronounced dead at the hospital, and Chauvin was arrested last week on charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. On June 3, Chauvin's charge was upgraded to second-degree unintentional murder, and three other now-former officers who were on the scene are facing charges.
