Valencia striker Hugo Duro admits they didn't see their thrashing at Real Madrid coming.

Real hammered Los Che 5-1 on Saturday night.

Duro said: "We're screwed because we came with the illusion of achieving something positive. We were doing well, had a good dynamic. The first half was good, although here you have to get it right up front and be very good at the back, and we didn't manage to do that. I had three clear chances and they didn't go in, and they scored the second goal.

"This should help us to learn and to win the next match against RC Celta. This defeat should not divert our attention from the good start of the season we are making and the great work of the team.

"This season I'm doing well, although I think I can improve a lot more, as in the three actions in the first half. Lunin was good on the first chance and I missed the others. I have ambition because that's the basis of everything, I want to do more both individually and defensively.

"I'm suffering in training and during the week, I sleep badly... today I arrived well thanks to the doctors who are helping me a lot. In the fall of the goal I hurt myself a lot. Now we have two weeks to recover and get back to 100%."
