Lazio defender Denis Vavro may become part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad should Patric leave this summer.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the switch to a four-man defence is one of the biggest changes following the arrival of Sarri this summer, with the 62-year-old Italian coach now deciding which defenders will be part of his squad for next season.

The Italian coach will focus on Luiz Felipe, Francesco Acerbi and Stefan Radu, with the backups being Dimitrije Kamenovic and Patric, who has been tested and adapted to be a central defender.

Considering that the Spanish defender’s contract expires next year in 2022, there is a chance that he could leave Rome this summer, which is why Denis Vavro could move up the hierarchy and become one of Sarri’s main defensive alternatives.

Regarding full backs, Mohamed Fares is set to be sold this summer, not being a part of Sarri’s plans, and it’s unlikely that there’ll be any new signings for the back four this summer.
