Danilo Cataldi stepped in at the last minute to start Lazio’s Champions League Round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich after Matias Vecino pulled out in the warm-up.

It kicked off at the Stadio Olimpico at 20.00 GMT and the second leg will be on March 5 in Munich.

Vecino had been in doubt with a slight muscular issue and was gritting his teeth to start in the Biancocelesti midfield.

However, the problem was exacerbated in the warm-up and he was forced to pull out, making way for Cataldi.

Maurizio Sarri already had to do without injured winger Mattia Zaccagni, while defender Gil Patric is only fit enough for a spot on the bench after dislocating his shoulder.

Lazio: Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Hysaj; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Isaksen, Immobile, Felipe Anderson

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Mazraoui, Kim, Upamecano, Guerreiro; Kimmich, Goretzka; Sané, Müller, Musiala; Kane
