Real Madrid will wrap up a contract renewal for veteran defender Lucas Vazquez this month.

Los Blancos are pausing all contract talks until the end of the campaign as they focus on clinching the UEFA Champions League title.

With the La Liga crown already wrapped up, that could change, with a potential Champions League final not until June 1.

However, any possible distraction will be avoided, as Carlo Ancelotti plans for the 2024/25 campaign.

A host of experienced names are coming to the end of their respective Real Madrid contracts as Ancelotti faces some big decisions.

Nacho Fernandez and Luka Modric are expected to move on this summer but Ancelotti wants to retain Vazquez for at least one more year.

As per the latest from Relevo’s Matteo Moretto, both parties want to extend their bond, with Vazquez demonstrating his enduring value in recent weeks.

Vazquez turns 33 in July, but he is ready for a tenth season in the Real Madrid first team, with a deal almost done.
