In Lisbon, on 25 May 1967, Celtic changed football forever…

The Football History Boys channel contacted The Celtic Star this morning to give us a heads up on their latest video which features Celtic’s European Cup Final victory in Lisbon on 25 May 1967 over Inter Milan.

“We’ve created a short video telling the story of the Lisbon Lions, Celtic’s 1967 European Cup winning side! An incredible team, they would emerge victorious playing ruthless attacking football against rigid defensive tactics!” they said.

“The 1967 European Cup Final remains one of the football’s greatest ever matches. There was far more to this victory for Celtic over Inter in Lisbon than just a trophy in the hands of captain Billy McNeill. What it represented was football at its most pure overcoming rigid pragmatism to bring an unprecedented quadruple to Parkhead,” The Football History Boys added.

It’s definitively well worth watching with some very well considered narrative…
