Juventus fans raged at Alex Sandro after his shocking defending allowed Lazio to take the lead in the Coppa Italia semi-final.

The first leg had ended 2-0 in Turin, so the Bianconeri had hoped to sit back and protect that advantage at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, it lasted only 12 minutes before the aggregate lead was halved by a Taty Castellanos header on the Luis Alberto corner.

He was aided by being able to jump more or less undisturbed, as Alex Sandro firstly was too far away from his man at the back post, then didn’t even get off the ground.

Juventus fans furious

Inevitably, Juventus fans vented their fury on social media after the Brazilian took just 12 minutes to commit a defensive howler, hardly the first of his campaign, despite barely featuring.

“The only thing worse than Alex Sandro is Max Allegri for still playing him…” wrote pundit Paolo Bargiggia.

“It seems as if Allegri is trying to get sacked before the season is over by fielding an ex-player like Alex Sandro,” added a fan.

“Alex Sandro is again decisive… for the opposition.”
