Vinicius Junior played his first game in almost seven weeks by making a 60-minute cameo in Real Madrid's 1-0 win over Mallorca on Wednesday.

Vinicius performed three successful dribbles, 18 passes and three shots before being replaced by Brahim Diaz when the score was still 0-0.

Mallorca had earlier struck the Madrid woodwork twice - courtesy of Antonio Sanchez and Samu Costa.

But the home side scored the game's only goal from a Luka Modric corner kick in the 78th minute.

That goal was headed in by Antonio Rudiger, who has now scored three goals in his La Liga career.

Vinicius had not played for Madrid since he scored twice in a 5-1 win over Valencia on November 11.

The 23-year-old suffered a hamstring injury six days later while playing for Brazil.

Vinicius then missed seven Madrid matches before making his return this week.

Wednesday's win kept Madrid top of the table.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have now won 15 La Liga games, drawn three and lost just one at the midway point of the season.
