Portugal are rightly considered one of the favourites to win Euro 2020 this summer.

They are the current holders – from five years ago. A feat that surprised many but one that secured former Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo and his homeland a significant international honour.

Before we get into Bruno Fernandes’ two-goal performance against Israel on Wednesday night, other stars worth noting as we enter Euro 2020 include Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Diogo Jota and Renato Sanches. Not to mention Ronaldo.

In attacking midfield, Fernandes will be tasked with pulling the strings and he will have plenty of options in the final third, making Portugal a potentially decent side to watch this summer.

Less than 48 hours away from Euro 2020 kicking off, Portugal played their final warm-up match against Israel and Fernandes was excellent in midfield – helping himself to not one but two goals as Portugal won 4-0.
