Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0 at the City Ground as Manchester United look to book their place in the Carabao Cup final.

With a 3-0 lead going into the second leg, you would want to be extremely brave — or stupid — to bet against United going to Wembley in February. It would take an almighty fall in next week’s second leg for Forest to comeback.

Erik ten Hag’s continued to push for a goal even with a two goal advantage. It was crucial that David de Gea would keep a clean sheet on the night, but it was another bonus to see Fernandes make it 3-0 before the end.

Credit to Anthony Elanga for getting the ball to Fernandes at the edge of the box.

Fernandes’ goal really should put this tie to bed!

This win only brings Ten Hag a step closer to winning his first trophy as United manager.
