Fate has it that Harry Kane ‘s pursuit for a major trophy continues. Despite having a record-breaking season that deserves every bit of praise, the reality is that Kane and his teammates will go trophyless this season.

Bayern Munich fought tooth and nail to have a chance at playing Borussia Dortmund in the final. Until the 88th minute, it looked like Bayern were the ones to play in the final.

However, Joselu‘s late brace and a controversial offside call meant that Bayern were knocked out in the most frustrating of ways. As referee Szymon Marciniak blew the full-time whistle, cameras spotted a distraught Kane on the bench. Following Alphonso Davies ‘ stunning goal, Thomas Tuchel made the decision to sub off Kane in exchange for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting .

In a viral video, the player is seen to be visibly disappointed and sad. He proceeded to bury his face in his arms after being made to sit out the final minutes of the game.

Several fans sympathized with the Englishman and stated that it was only a matter of time before he claimed a trophy. Others laughed at Kane, citing the trophyless curse that follows him everywhere.

Bayern veteran Manuel Neuer makes costly error in final minutes against Real Madrid

Nobody would have believed it had they been told that Manuel Neuer‘s error will be the reason Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich. The Bavarians were sitting on a one-goal lead thanks to Alphonso Davies when everything went wrong in the 88th minute. Despite struggling to be in control of the game for its majority, Davies’ stunner had Bayern fans dreaming of a spot in the final.

However, it was Neuer of all people that undid the work that his teammates put in since going ahead. Vinicius Jr. took a shot towards the Bayern goal, almost in desperation. A shot which would’ve been a routine save for the German on nine out of ten occasions slipped out of his hands in the final moment.

Like every good striker is instructed to do, Joselu quickly came to capitalize on the chance and made no mistake to place his shot past Neuer. After scoring what was the most important goal of his career till then, the Espanyol loanee went a step ahead to send Real into the final. He got on the end of Antonio Rudiger ‘s cross to slot home into an empty net.
