Guilherme Madruga has won the FIFA Puskas Award after his 25-yard overhead kick was voted the best goal in the world scored in 2023.

Brazilian midfielder Madruga's incredible piece of acrobatic brilliance came for Botafogo against Novorizontino during a Serie B game in June.

Madruga is the third Brazilian to win the FIFA Puskas Award - after Neymar in 2011 and Wendell Lira in 2015.

The other finalists for the 2023 award were Julio Enciso and Nuno Santos.

Enciso scored a stunning long-range goal for Brighton against Manchester City in May following a slick passing move.

Santos found the net with a remarkable rabona for Sporting Lisbon against Boavista in March.
