It’s been over a year since football legend Diego Maradona passed away. However, despite being gone, Maradona continues to live on for many Argentines, whether through memories, murals, documentaries, etc.
During an interview with TNT Sports Argentina, Paris Saint-Germain forward Ángel Di María recounted his time with Maradona, the Argentine national team manager for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
The 34-year-old recounted how Maradona was a second father to him, considering he was a young player breaking through with the national team.
“At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, he was like my dad or a lifelong friend; he would sit on my bed and tell me things about Napoli as if he had known him for a lifetime,” Di María said.
