Lionel Messi is heading into his third UEFA Champions League, and the third month with Paris Saint-Germain, so the 34-year-old continues to settle in this new chapter of his career. Messi has already scored his first goal, so that’s off his back, and he’ll look to further cement himself in the squad.

Ahead of the UEFA Champions League matchup against manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media at his press conference. The Argentine tactician provided an update on how Messi is adapting to life in Paris and the squad.

“Leo shines with his own light. He is a player who shone in Barcelona, who shines in Argentina and at Paris Saint-Germain by himself. He’s completely integrated; he’s a player with the highest level of intelligence and adaptability,” Pochettino said.

“He is much quieter with the time and the experience accumulated over the past few months than he has been in this club and in this city. We are satisfied, happy. And he is very happy to be here in Paris. We hope that everything will go as naturally as possible, that he will perform as he hopes and as we hope. I have no doubt that it will turn out that way.”
