Achraf Hakimi was the star of Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory over FC Metz. The 22-year-old opened the score early in the fixture and would score his brace with a late strike during stoppage time in the second half.

Following the match, Hakimi spoke to Canal Plus, discussing the victory and his performance as the capital club snatched another three points late in the fixture.

“I’m very happy to have been able to help the team with two goals. I am very happy with the victory, to have fought until the last minute to win the three points. I’m proud of them, and we’re going to celebrate. The tension at the end of the match? These are things that happen. Both teams want to win; everyone wants to defend their colors,” Hakimi said.

“We managed to get the three points, we fought, we worked, and that is the most important. Why so difficult? There was a team that played defensively. They were impressed. We had control of the game; we were quiet. We didn’t manage to score on our chances.”

PSG hopes to work out its issues ahead of next week’s UEFA Champions League fixture against Manchester City.
