It’s no secret that Lisandro Martinez became an instant hit with Manchester United fans.

The former Ajax defender followed Erik ten Hag to the club and proved many pundits wrong for questioning his height.

In turn, the fans have really got behind the Argentina defender. They sing ‘Ar-gen-tina’ every week and Martinez definitely appreciates that.

United’s away support did the same tonight at the City Ground as the Reds beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

In the video below, as per @utdreport, Martinez can be seen acknowledging the away fans for their non-stop support.

Before he won the World Cup towards the end of 2022, United fans got a brilliant banner made showing the Argentina flag with a butcher knife displayed in the centre.

At first the club thought this was too offensive and didn’t let them unveil it at Old Trafford, but that U-turn was formed on that decision after Martinez won the World Cup.

We all love Licha!
