AC Milan have trained at Milanello for the final time before heading south to the Stadio Olimpico where they take on Roma in the Europa League quarter-final second leg.

Milan took to the grass at Milanello on Wednesday morning knowing that the biggest two games of the season so far are coming up over the next five days, with a deficit to overturn against Roma and a Serie A title party to spoil for Inter.

Unfortunately for Milan, defenders Simon Kjaer and Pierre Kalulu were not among the players who took part in training, which suggests that they will not be fit enough to provide depth at Olimpico on Thursday night.

On a more positive note, though, Tommaso Pobega was in the group and he looks to be closer and closer to making his return from a serious injury.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was there to watch the session, knowing that the match could end Milan’s chances of winning a trophy this season.

There is a chance that Stefano Pioli starts with Samuel Chukwueze on the right wing, Christian Pulisic in the middle, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek further back in the midfield two. This would be an offensive change but one that could be needed after losing the first leg 1-0.
