Every Manchester United fan will be waking up this morning wondering what Ralf Rangnick will bring to the team this season.

The German looks set to become United manager on an interim basis before moving upstairs to a more consultancy role, with talks ongoing with his present club Lokomotiv Moscow, where he is manager of sports and development.

Given the fact he hasn’t coached in England before, Rangnick is somewhat of an unknown quality despite the exceptional work he has done in transforming Red Bull on and off the field, though we can surely take confidence from the fact Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel have hit the Premier League by storm.

Here, Rangnick can be seen in an old interview with German outlet DW explaining his methods in training and his unique ‘8 second rule’.

This is all very encouraging.

It could be a great appointment for United but we suspect Michael Carrick will take charge of the team against on Sunday against Chelsea.
