Paris Saint-Germain is coming off a 2-1 loss to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League, where they missed having the 28-year-old as the midfield became an issue in the match.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media at his press conference, where he talked about the latest injury to Verratti.

“These are things that happen in football. He is an important player for us, but also for all the coaches who have been here. He is a fundamental player,” Pochettino said.

“It’s a shame we can’t count on him tomorrow. We hope that he can find this continuity with the team to play regularly. We are still positive, and we hope this will be his last injury.”

Due to the injuries in the midfield, PSG has called upon two of their bright young talents in Xavi Simons and Edouard Michut. The two teenagers will be part of the group that has traveled for their match against AS Saint-Étienne.
