Watch: Tottenham Hotspur honor season-ticket holders who died from COVID-19 with touching tribute

Ahead of Friday's Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United — the first game played by either side since the league halted play in March due to the coronavirus pandemic — the Spurs honored season-ticket holders lost to COVID-19 over the past several months.

Before kickoff, Tottenham placed shirts that held names such as "Grandad" in remembrance of those supporters on empty seats:

The fixture at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as well as all other matches throughout the country, occurred without spectators due to the virus outbreak.

Tottenham and United players also sported anti-racism shirts during pre-game warmups and fell to a knee ahead of kickoff in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25:

The players wore jerseys with "Black Lives Matter" in place of their names for the campaign's resumption.
