West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez was delighted with their 4-2 win against Brentford.

Jarrod Bowen dominated the scoreline with a hat-trick.

"Well, personally I think it was a pretty good performance," Alvarez told Paramount+. It was a very close game in the midfield.

We knew, we analysed the game [beforehand] and they played a lot of direct attack, so it was important to win the second balls. I think we started off quite well [by scoring twice in the opening seven minutes] and I'm also happy for the team because we're back to winning ways."

On Bowen, he added: I'm very happy, very happy for him.

Obviously, in the end it is a job for the entire team, but today it [the starring role] was given to him and he deserves it because he is a great boy."
