The UEFA Champions League semifinal will begin next season with the first leg between Bayern Munich-Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund-Paris Saint-Germain kicking off. Nonetheless, if the football media has their way, PSG and Real Madrid will head to London for the final.

Why would they want to see the French side take on Los Blancos? Well, there’s the reality television aspect. Many expect Kylian Mbappé to leave PSG when his contract expires in June. Additionally, the French will likely sign with Real Madrid as a free agent.

Diario AS highlighted how a PSG-Real Madrid final would be received between the two clubs. The Spanish media outlet notes that there will be a lot of awkwardness in this clash.

“All parties already accept that tension will escalate if Real Madrid and PSG meet in the Champions League final,” the outlet noted. “A similar situation occurred when both clubs faced off in the Round of 16 in 2022. Mbappé’s arrival at the Madrid club was an open secret. Everything seemed settled until Mbappé surprised the world by announcing his renewal.

“This time, the Frenchman has the opportunity to bid farewell to Paris in grand style. But that would be a huge disappointment for the Madrid fans. Undoubtedly, a dilemma for the player.”

Regarding Mbappé and Real Madrid on the contract side, Diario AS also recently reported that the PSG star will receive an annual wage of around €15 million net, with 80 percent of his image rights, which could see his annual earnings nearly double.
