Last Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain lost 3-2 to FC Barcelona at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matchup.

Although the team can turn the situation around on Tuesday when the scene shifts to Barcelona, the team was reportedly confused regarding the tactical decisions that manager Luis Enrique decided to roll out against the Catalan side.

L’Equipe reports that facing Barcelona, a portion of the locker room didn’t understand and was very surprised to discover Marco Asensio’s starting lineup, a first this season in the Champions League, and Warren Zaïre-Emery’s presence on the bench.

The same goes for Marquinhos, who was deployed as a right-back to replace the suspended Achraf Hakimi. Le Parisien also reported that, in private, Beraldo admitted to having had a “really tough” evening against Barcelona, but some close associates were surprised by his high position on the field.

It will be interesting to see what adjustments Enrique makes as PSG fights to overcome their situation and punch their ticket to the Champions League semifinal.
