When Thiago Silva headed home during Chelsea's 4-4 draw with Manchester City on Sunday he became the first player aged 39 or older to score a Premier League goal since Ryan Giggs in 2013.
However, neither of those men holds the record of being the oldest goalscorer in Premier League history - although Silva is the only non-British player to find the net in the EPL beyond their 39th birthday.
The oldest scorer the Premier League has ever witnessed to date was Teddy Sheringham in 2006.
Sheringham scored the last of his 146 EPL goals at the age of 40 years and 268 days.
It came for West Ham United in a 2-1 loss to Portsmouth at Upton Park.
Before Sheringham, the record had been 38 years and 215 days set by Stuart Pearce in 2000 - also while playing for West Ham.
However, Pearce is now only fifth on the list.
Hull City legend Dean Windass (39 years and 235 days) is second, while Manchester United icon Giggs (39 years and 86 days) and Silva (39 years and 51 days) sit third and fourth respectively.
