19-year-old forward Amadou Sarr could start getting his chance to shine in the first team for Inter Milan.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, analyze how the young forward could fit into the Nerazzurri’s senior team after becoming a shining light for the Primavera team.

Sarr has been completing his journey through Inter’s youth academy system over the past few years.

The Senegalese has been playing for the Primavera team under Christian Chivu.

This season Sarr has already made four appearances, in which he’s scored two goals and assisted one.

Last time around, it was 25 appearances for the teenager. He bagged five goals and three assisted three in that period.

According to Tuttosport, comparisons have been made between Sarr and AC Milan legend George Weah.

There is of course a long way to go for Sarr before he can have Weah’s stature in the game. But in terms of his profile and versatility, the 19-year-old resembles the Liberian according to Tuttosport.

Mainly, there is the fact that Sarr can play anywhere across the frontline.

The 19-year-old looks equally comfortable playing as a central striker, an attacking midfielder, or winger.

Amadou Sarr Could Get First-Team Opportunities With Arnautovic Injured

Striker Marko Arnautovic picked up a serious injury in Sunday’s win over Empoli.

The feeling is that the 34-year-old will be out for a couple months with a “medium-grade” thigh strain. That will mean quite a few matches in which he is unable to appear – potentially ten between Serie A and the Champions League.

Inter could be looking at ten matches with only three senior forwards available.

That is hardly adequate for a team who play with two forwards.

Lautaro Martinez has started every match so far in the campaign, but can hardly do so forever. The captain has already shown one or two signs of fatigue.

And Inter will similarly not want to become over-reliant on Marcus Thuram.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi can then count on some other solutions. For one, the coach can try out midfielders like Davy Klaassen, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Stefano Sensi as second strikers.

Alexis Sanchez will also play plenty more matches.

But according to Tuttosport, Sarr is also a player who will start receiving call-ups to Inter’s senior matchday squads.

Of all the players from the youth team, the 19-year-old is the forward who looks most ready to play.

And the versatility that Sarr has shown could be a particular asset. He could be ideally-suited to fit into Inter’s front two system, regardless of who he pairs with.
